The Proposal

After a rough 7 months of medical school rotations, I finally had a vacation so Moiz and I planned a trip to India with several of our friends for what I thought was "to visit" my sister, who was living there at the time, and travel the country. It was a beautiful Monday and we had just arrived to India that morning. We landed in New Delhi and headed straight to Agra to see the Taj Mahal. One of my dreams in life is to explore all the man-made wonders of the world so I was extremely excited to start off our trip this way! We made it just in time to see the Taj at sunset.

As we entered the premises, our tour guide shared the marvels about the romantic story of Shah Jahan, one of the Mughal emperors of India, and how he built this marvelous structure to honor and show his love for his wife. Moiz then took me to the side of the reflecting pool to pose for some pictures and I noticed the rest of our group was only taking pictures of the two of us. As I was mentioning how bizarre that seemed, he began to reminisce on our relationship, how we met and how I introduced him to his cultural heritage and before I knew it he was down on one knee! I was in complete shock, cried, and with trembling hands said YES! Little did I know, he had secretly been planning the trip for several months and all my friends and family knew the whole time! I could not have asked for a better surprise and cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with my best friend.

The Ring

The Engagement Ring: Custom designed by Tacori with a Fancy Intense Yellow round diamond. I wanted something completely unique so I spent months going to different places and studying diamonds. I went with Tacori because they offered to custom design me a ring based on the features I was looking for. I also really liked the intricate detail they put into their settings. I decided on a yellow diamond because of how rare they are, especially in a round cut. After going back and forth with many AutoCAD drawings from Tacori, I ended up with the perfect ring! I had been looking at rings and studying diamonds for the past 6 or so months with the goal of creating something completely unique and rare.
